THE ANDERSONS BUY TWO NEBRASKA ELEVATORS

Maumee, OH based agribusiness company, The Andersons, announced on December 31, 2010 that it has purchased two grain storage facilities in Kearney and Riverdale, NE, and assumed a third leased facility in Paxton, NE, from B4Grain, Inc.  The announcement by the diversified agribusiness company comes on the heels of another recent announcement by grain processing giant ADM that they will be building two new grain handling facilities in northeast Nebraska.

The three facilities will provide The Andersons with 3 million bushels of additional storage capacity in Nebraska, bringing the company's total national capacity to about 107 million bushels.

According to the company announcement, this purchase is another step westward for The Andersons to be positioned along the I-80 corridor in the high production area of Nebraska.  Additionally, according to the announcement, the direct ship program The Andersons have in place will complement their business at other existing facilities.

A Nebraska Grain and Feed Association (NGF) member, B4 Grain was formed in 2001. The B4 Grain managers have more than 60 years of combined experience buying grain off the farm, and will become part of The Andersons.
