NGF 34th SUMMER MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

THANK OUR SPONSORS

The Nebraska Grain and Feed Association’s (NGF) 34th Summer Meeting and Golf Classic held on August 7, 2009 at Quarry Oaks golf club “was a great success because of our members who attended and the generous support of our sponsors who attended the one-day event,” according to Ryan Pellet, Summer Meeting Co-Chair.

"We heard great comments about the schedule and golf which attracted grain and feed industry leaders from across the state and region who enjoyed another outstanding program,” said Summer Meeting Co-Chairman Jim Mendlik, with Hansen – Mueller in Omaha.  “We have been fortunate to count on the support of some of the leading member companies and suppliers of the grain industry in the state, and we can’t thank them enough.”

The 9:05 AM Dealers Program begin with the president's welcome from Mike Rost, followed by Bill Holbrook with the ProExporter network.  Bill discussed the pressure on corn and soybean supplies, and the possible effects the California Air Resources Board (CARB) calculations and the Low Carbon Fuel Standards established by that state’s legislature will have on the future of ethanol production.

The next speaker on the Dealers Program was CHS’s Al Ambrose presenting Open Markets, Economic Growth, and Shared Prosperity, “The Luckiest Generation”.  This comprehensive presentation demonstrated the crucial role of trade, tax, and regulatory reform has had in driving and sustaining the unprecedented global economic growth over the past 50 years.  Al has delivered this celebrated appearance to scores of audiences, and NGF dealers in attendance weren’t disappointed.

Finally, Unicameral Agriculture Committee Chairman State Sen. Tom Carlson discussed alternatives to the establishment of a state grain indemnification program.

Lunch was followed by the All NGF Four- Person Classic at 12:00 PM.  The steak dinner along with the prizes and awards wrapped-up at 6:00 PM.  The board and staff of NGF would like to thank all the attendees, speakers and sponsors for making this such a successful program!

Thank Our 2009 Summer Meeting Sponsors!
